Souad: Hello! I’m Souad Menif, a dental student and healthcare LinkedIn ghostwriter based in Tunisia. By day, I’m in dental school learning to care for patients, and by night, I’m crafting content for doctors around the world. I help physicians and health professionals share their knowledge and personal stories on LinkedIn to build their personal brands. Writing has always been my creative outlet, and somehow I’ve managed to turn that passion into a niche business even as I finish my medical education. Being a North African woman in this field is rare, and I’m proud to bring my culture’s resilience and warmth into my work. What inspired you to become a ghostwriter?
My journey into ghostwriting began after I failed my third year of dental school. At the time, I didn’t know I had polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS); I only knew something felt wrong. I was exhausted, lost, and questioning my worth. Writing wasn’t part of the plan. It started when someone close to me suggested sharing my thoughts on LinkedIn as a way to cope. I had always been curious about online work but had never earned a single dollar from it. So I began posting about dentistry: simple, educational pieces based on what I was learning as a student. Within 90 days, those posts reached over 100,000 impressions and helped me build an engaged audience from just 500 connections. That’s when I realized how powerful online storytelling could be.
Living with PCOS also helped me understand the value of information shared by healthcare professionals. There were times I felt unheard in my own health journey, yet I found comfort and clarity in posts written by doctors who took the time to educate and empathize online. It showed me that words can bridge the gap between clinicians and the people who need their insight most.
Coming from a traditional family in North Africa, starting a side business in writing wasn’t something anyone expected. At first, my parents were puzzled that I was putting energy into LinkedIn instead of focusing solely on dentistry. But I felt strongly about it, and not having their full support early on taught me to trust my vision and keep going quietly.
In the end, ghostwriting became more than a distraction. It became a way to combine my love for storytelling with my desire to make an impact in healthcare. I saw a real need in my community and wanted to prove to myself and others that I could create something meaningful on my own terms.
Who is your ideal client?
I work primarily with doctors and healthcare professionals who are experts in their field but new to personal branding. Many of them are brilliant clinicians with little time or experience to share their knowledge online. I especially enjoy working with doctors who want to educate or advocate for health causes but feel unsure about posting on social media. My role is to help them turn their insights into approachable stories that reflect who they are. In short, I give a voice to the white coats who have plenty to say but don’t know where to start.
What kinds of projects do you enjoy most?
I get especially excited about projects that use storytelling to educate and help others. Writing LinkedIn posts that turn complex clinical topics into relatable narratives is my favorite thing to do. For example, I loved working on a series for an obstetrician who discussed litigation, and a functional health doctor who shared insights on longevity. In both cases, storytelling drew readers in before guiding them toward meaningful lessons. Seeing comments like “I finally understand this!” makes it all worth it.
I also enjoy helping doctors share personal reflections: why they chose medicine, the challenges they’ve faced, or what they’ve learned from patients. Blending science with a bit of soul is where I’m in my element.
How do you approach ghostwriting, and what can clients expect when working with you?
My approach is collaborative, flexible, and tailored to each client. Since doctors have unpredictable schedules and I’m studying dentistry full-time, most of my work happens asynchronously. We usually have biweekly calls to brainstorm ideas, but I also use quick tools like text exchanges or “emergency” Google forms when clients are short on time.
After gathering their insights, I draft posts and share them in batches through Google Docs so they can review and comment whenever it suits them. This setup lets them focus on their patients while I keep the writing process moving.
I ask thoughtful questions to uncover the stories behind their work, and I refine each piece until it truly sounds like them. My goal is always the same: to create content that feels authentic, human, and something they’re proud to share.
What are some common misconceptions people have about ghostwriting?
One big misconception is that ghostwriting is somehow “inauthentic” or even deceptive, especially when it comes to personal branding. I’ve had people ask, “Isn’t it kind of fake if a doctor isn’t writing their own posts?” I completely understand the concern, but in practice, a good ghostwriter amplifies the client’s voice rather than replacing it. In my work, the ideas still come from the doctor. Their experiences, their opinions, their expertise are the foundation; I’m just helping to shape those thoughts into engaging words. It’s a collaboration. I often describe it as being a surrogate voice for someone. If I do my job well, the audience (patients, peers, or colleagues) hears the authentic person behind the content, not me. There’s nothing unethical about it, the doctor is still sharing their knowledge, and I’m part of the team helping them share it more clearly.
Can you share an example where your copy delivered measurable results for a client?
I’ve had several rewarding wins that show the power of consistent storytelling. One client, a senior consultant anesthetist in the NHS, started with fewer than 400 connections and almost no online presence. Within ten months, his content reached over one million impressions, his network grew past 5,000 connections, and he was invited to conferences, podcasts, and later launched his first professional program.
Another client, a consultant obstetrician, began with under 500 connections and reached 73,000 impressions by her sixth post. Her storytelling posts about patient care and communication quickly boosted engagement and filled her inbox with collaboration requests.
These results show how clarity and authenticity can turn visibility into trust. And for me, nothing is more fulfilling than seeing that trust lead to real opportunities for my clients.
Besides ghostwriting, do you provide additional services to your clients?
Yes, my work often goes beyond writing posts. Many doctors I work with need support refining their LinkedIn profiles, so I help optimize their “About” section, headline, and visuals to match their brand.
I also offer light content and outreach strategy consulting, where we set goals, define content pillars, and plan topics for the months ahead. For example, if a cardiologist wants to be known for preventive heart health, we map out themes that reinforce that message.
Some clients are new to creating content, so I guide them on how to post, engage, and build their confidence online.
While ghostwriting is my main focus, my goal is to be a full support system for doctors who want to share their voice. Whether it’s writing, strategizing, or simply cheering them on, I’m here to help them show up with clarity and confidence.
